Reflecting Repetition is an exhibition about using repetitive action to embrace our complexities. With art from the past seven years and materials collected over eleven years, this show tells the story of how artist and author, Solena Aguilar, has used materials accessible to them to understand what it means to be a complex person. For the first time, Aguilar discusses their obsessive-compulsive disorder diagnosis and how coming to terms with this part of themselves, especially as a Nicaraguan and Trans/Queer person, has allowed them to further understand the person reflected back at them.
Open to the public Mondays and Thursdays in October, 4 to 7pm, and for one hour after each scheduled painting class (see our calendar for dates). When you arrive, text 718.804.5524 and we'll let you in. All other visits by appointment.
